Todd became an ISA-certified arborist in 2005. Arborists are trained experts in the maintenance, treatment, and general care of trees. They manage damage and disease, and also cultivate healthy trees with specialized pruning cuts. Arboriculture is both a science and an art. With a vast knowledge of local trees, Todd has developed a keen ability to detect underlying problems. But he also understands how to prune trees so they look their best, increase in strength, and provide beauty, shade, and value for decades to come. 

Todd decided to open Upstate Arborists in 2008 with a chainsaw, one promised job, and a dream to become the Upstate's most trusted, neighborhood tree care specialist. Since then, we have met hundreds of incredible people and served our friends, our neighbors, and their families, friends, and neighbors. Websites and Google reviews are relatively new for us, and the vast majority of our business has been through word-of-mouth. We are proud to be a debt-free company, which is why you will see our old calico truck out there on each job. Staying out of debt helps us keep our costs and overhead low, and keeps our subsequent customer pricing as fair as it can possibly be. We are also proud to have served our customers with honesty, integrity, and fairness during the Helene catastrophe, with deep conviction that emergencies and crises should never be viewed as opportunities to take advantage of families. While our business does increase in times of crisis, we have never wanted those events to happen, and are grateful that our customers call us first when they are in need.
